Pakistan weather today: sunshine almost everywhere
High pressure-style calm describes the day: no rain is forecast in any province, and winds are light in most places. The warmest air is in the south, which means Sindh feels summery, while the mountains and Balochistan plateau feel autumn-cool. Only Mingora and Gilgit start under cloud.
Punjab and Islamabad
Punjab is settled and pleasant. Lahore and Faisalabad reach 28°C today with lows near 19°C, so mornings and evenings are comfortable. Multan and Bahawalpur are a little warmer, at 31°C and 30°C. Rawalpindi and Islamabad are cooler at 26°C, with a breeze of around 12 to 13 km/h. Skies stay mostly sunny and dry here through Tuesday 3 November.
Sindh: the hottest part of Pakistan
Karachi peaks at 36°C today, with a sea breeze of 16 km/h that takes a little edge off the heat. Hyderabad reaches 35°C and Sukkur 33°C. Nights are warm, with Karachi only falling to 24°C. Sukkur heats up to 35°C on Sunday 1 November.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Azad Kashmir
Peshawar is mostly sunny at 26°C, Dera Ismail Khan is warmer at 29°C, and Mingora is cloudy at 25°C with a cool 12°C night. In Balochistan, Quetta reaches only 22°C and winds are brisk at 18 km/h, so it feels cooler than the number suggests. Zhob reaches 25°C, while coastal Gwadar is warm at 31°C. Muzaffarabad in Azad Kashmir is sunny at 26°C.
Gilgit-Baltistan: rain and cold on the way
This is the region to watch. Gilgit is cloudy today with showers possible nearby, then heavy rain follows on Sunday 1 November with 13.8 mm. Monday 2 November is wetter still, with 28.8 mm, and the high drops sharply from 22°C to 14°C. Skardu stays mostly dry at first, though showers are possible nearby on Sunday and Monday, then it turns showery on Tuesday 3 November with a high of only 10°C.
The next few days
Sunday 1 November and Monday 2 November stay dry and sunny for most of the country. Karachi sees light showers on Monday, but only 0.2 mm, so expect little more than a few drops. Muzaffarabad has a similarly light shower. Multan and Bahawalpur warm to 32°C. Peshawar turns cloudy on Tuesday 3 November, and temperatures ease slightly in many cities.
What it means for you
- Plains and cities: good weather for travel and outdoor plans, but Sindh afternoons are hot, so carry water and take shade at midday.
- Quetta and the highlands: wear a layer, especially in the morning and evening when it is cold, and expect a stiff breeze.
- Gilgit-Baltistan: if you plan to travel on Sunday or Monday, allow extra time and check conditions before setting off, as heavy rain and colder air are forecast.
